Woodleigh's annual visit to the Lake Grounds was blessed by a fabulously sunny day and an excellent game of cricket. The vistors batting first got off to a flyer and were scoring at 7 an over with openers Langford (50) and Colwell (70) being particularly severe on 'Rusty' Walker. The introduction of Phil Thoburn, Paul Taylor and Sam Stuckes into the attack pegged Woodleigh back and restricted them to a total of 219. Sam finished with 3-31, Paul 2-51, Phil 1-36 and Rusty picked up 2 late wickets to finish with 2-61. In reply Joe Rowsell (65) and Mike Savory (27) put on 65 for the 1st wicket before Sam Stuckes then starred with the bat to make 103 not out. Joe was dismissed with the score on 152 with Adrian Fishman (10no) keeping Sam company as victory was achieved with 8 balls to spare.
