The second Portishead Sixes competition was blessed with dry and mostly sunny weather and resulted in last years runners-up Clifton College beating hosts Portishead in the final. The group stages saw Clifton College top Group A with Portishead also qualifying for the semi-finals. Bedminster topped group B with Failand and Portbury also going through by beating Lodway in the final group game. In the first semi-final Portishead overcame defending champions Bedminster and the second semi-final went the way of the college boys. The final saw Clifton smash their way to a large total of 82 in their 5 overs including some enormous sixes, Portishead gave it their best shot but came up 20 runs short.
A special thanks to Jerry Stuckes and Rob Chick for their sterling efforts in manning the B-B-Q all day, for all those volunteers who helped run the cake stall and bar throughout, and finally to Rob Thomas for organising the competition
