2010 Season

Only 41 days to go to the start of the 2010 cricket season!!

Once again the 1st team will be led by David Colyer and will be hoping to improve on the 4th place finish acheived in the Senior Division in 2009. The 2nd and 3rd teams this year will be under the stewardship of Neville Coleske and Adrian Fishman and will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointment of relegation.

The 1st team start with two home friendlies, Blagdon the visitors on April 17th followed by Twyford House on the 24th. The seconds kick off their season with a friendly at Frenchay also on the 24th April.

The B & D league starts on May 1st with the first eleven entertaining Timsbury, whilst the second and thirds have away trips to Cleeve and Chipping Sodbury respectively. A full list of League fixtures is available on the Senior Cricket sub page.

A reminder to all players that indoor training will once again be at the Downs School Wraxall on March 4th, 11th, 17th and 24th from 8.30pm until 10.00pm. There is a minimum charge of £2 per player for these facilities.

We will be looking for club members to help clean up the Pavilion and Dressing Rooms and to erect the outdoor nets towards the end of March or beginning of April. Please show your support for the club by offering your services for a few hours. Full details will follow later.

Club Day this year has been moved to June 20th in the hope of some decent weather after the washouts in two of the last three years in July and the Portishead 6-a-side has been moved to Sunday 30th May to avoid clashing with the club tour which commences the following day. Once again volunteers required to help run both these events smoothly.

Wishing all players and their families a successful and hopefully sunny 2010.
