Portishead Cricket Club

The 2012 season sees new Captains at the helm for both the Saturday 1st and 2nd teams. Dan Stevens takes charge of the 1st's from David Colyer after three excellent seasons of finishing in the top four of the League, Dave is now moving to the position of Club Captain. We wish Dan and his team continued success. Rob Chick is the new skipper of the 2nd's and we wish him every success in his first venture into captaincy. Ollie Savory remains in charge of the Sunday team and will be hoping to build on the tremendous enthusiasm shown by the team last year.

The first team once again have two pre-season friendlies against Blagdon and Twyford House before commencing the League programme at home to Pak Bristolians. The seconds have a busy first week of the League season with games away at Pak Bristolians on 5th May, then at Hambrook on the Bank Holiday Monday before a home game with YMCA on the 12th. The Sunday team kick of their season with a match on 15th April at home to Whitchurch. There are 3 midweek fixtures arranged with annual visitors Woodleigh arriving on June 19th, Denham on August 2nd and Lisvane on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August.

Pre-season nets have been arranged for 4 weeks in March on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th at the Downs School Wraxall from 8pm until 9.30pm, please make every effort to come along and shake off the winter cobwebs.
